This 1956 vintage Simplicity pattern is for a Junior Misses' and Misses' One-Piece Dress
and Cummerbund #1794. This is a preprinted pattern in a size 14 with a 34" bust.
The original price of this vintage pattern was $.50. This pattern is an original - we do not sell
reproductions or copies.
Vintage sizing is smaller than today's sizing. It is best to
ignore traditional sizing altogether and simply order the pattern by bust size
as any necessary alterations are usually easier in other areas of the garment.
The back of the pattern has this description: "Classic shirtwaist dress with
feminine touches has a pointed notched collar, set-in sleeves, full softly pleated
skirt..." I've included a scan of the back of the envelope so you can see all the
details.
The instructions are included with this vintage dress pattern, and the 1956 date is included
on the instruction sheet.
This pattern is in great condition. The envelope shows some wear with a couple
tears. The pattern pieces are in great condition. The original owner treated her
patterns very carefully!
