This is a 1950s Simplicity 3039 pattern for a junior shirtwaist
dress in three views. The instructions are included. This pattern is an original
- we do not sell reproductions or copies.
This printed pattern is a size 13 with a 33" bust, a 25-1/2" waist, and a
35" hip. The original price was 50 cents. I am basing the age of the pattern on this price.
Vintage sizing is smaller than today's sizing. It is best to
ignore traditional sizing altogether and simply order the pattern by bust size
as any necessary alterations are usually easier in other areas of the garment.
The back
of the pattern says "Shirtwaist dress has collar; set-in sleeves; front
band and button closing; and full, softly pleated skirt, pleated in groups of
four. Views 1 and 2 feature patch pockets. View 1 long sleeves gather into
wristbands. Views 2 and 3 sleeves may be turned back for form self cuffs."
The pattern envelope shows some wear. The pattern pieces and instructions are in
very good condition.
